Are you struggling to recruit smart Millennials to your company? Follow these three tips, and you’ll start bringing ‘em in like bees to honey.

If you want your company to thrive, you’re going to need fresh blood. And in this day and age, that means hiring Millennials.

But how can you attract the right Millennials to work for you? The hard-working and innovative young minds whom everyone is competing for?

You may be thinking of the flashy offices and free lunches offered by tech startups — but even if you can’t provide these, don’t despair. By understanding what makes Millennials tick, you can adjust the structure and workflow of your company to attract (and keep) them.

This Entrepreneur article on “Millennial-proofing your office” explains three sold ways to nab the top talent you need:

1. Take advantage of new technologies

Millennials are always hip to the newest tech tools and gadgets, and they expect the same of their workplace. Make sure your processes are digitally up-to-date, and that you’re utilizing technology in a modern and efficient way.

2. Focus on collaboration and teamwork

Today’s young workforce wants to sit at the table — and have their voices heard. Make this happen in your company with everything from collaborative team meetings to open workspaces.

3. Be flexible and open-minded

It is no longer the era of boss = king. Give your employees open channels through which they can easily offer their input, and be flexible with work arrangements — for example, allowing employees to work remotely one day a week.

According to the article, “This fosters a culture of trust and can be very beneficial for employee/employer relationships.”

Whatever it is, remember that enticing Millennials to join a company takes more than a ping-pong table and snazzy chairs — it takes a workplace where they can do what they’ve been doing for the past 20+ years: grow.

What methods have you found successful for recruiting and maintaining Millennials? If you’re a Millennial, would these three tips apply to you?

They want technology, they want flexibility..who says they have to work within the hours of 9am – 5pm? They want to climb the career ladder fast or they will “hop” to somewhere else who will enable them to do so .. Employers need their digital skills , they need business skills. Julie
