When’s the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? If you’re like many of us, it’s probably been far too long.
Maybe you want to apply for your dream job, but you feel under qualified. Maybe you want to travel to a new country, but you’re nervous. Maybe you want to quit your job and start your own business, but you’re afraid of failure.
Whatever it is — whether in your career, your business, or your personal life — we’re all about getting gutsy here at Brazen Life.
We believe it’s only when you take the big risks that you reap big rewards. And someone who agrees with us is Jessica Lawlor. In fact, she runs an entire blog and essay contest centered around this very idea.
Get inspired to Get Gutsy…
For her second annual “Get Gutsy Essay Contest,” Lawlor asked her readers to write blog posts about a time they stepped out of their comfort zone. She received 66 entries on a wide array of topics — including getting pregnant, raising money to fight human trafficking, and getting published on The Huffington Post.
Though Lawlor shared links to all of the stories, she recently chose four winners — whose essays she then re-published on her own blog:
- #GetGutsy + Get Out Of Your Own Backyard by Sara Frandina
- The New York City Marathon by Kim Kawecki
- Get Gutsy- Do Something That Scares You by Kate Sommerkamp
- Facing Fears and Getting Gutsy by Robin Botie
If you need some inspiration for the new year, we strongly advise you check out the stories by these courageous writers.
How will you #GetGutsy in 2015?
