Wait, you don’t have a recruiting chatbot yet?
Of course, we think you should join the chatbot revolution right away. But we know it’s a big decision and it could radically change the way you approach talent acquisition. So we don’t blame you.
In a survey by Korn Ferry, 63% of talent acquisition professionals said AI has already changed how recruiting is conducted in their organization and AI-powered chatbots are a huge part of that trend. Talent acquisition leaders are now looking to recruiting chatbots to attract better candidates, streamline application processes, and speed up tedious tasks like pre-screening.
We looked at the top four recruiting chatbot vendors and rounded up some of the crucial information you’ll need in order to decide which chatbot is right for you.
AllyO’s recruiting chatbot is unlike the other platforms on the list, in that a chatbot is all it is. While other vendors provide a robust conversational recruiting platform, AllyO only offers the chatbot. A simplified solution can be appealing, if a vendor has mastered the tool. However, reviews of AllyO reveal a few shortcomings. In particular, some reviewers say it’s more difficult to use than they were told, and that the screening tool isn’t as effective as they would like. Some reviews report the chatbot sometimes sends unqualified candidates through, creating additional work for their human team. AllyO’s recruiting chatbot promises to serve up improved application complete rates (70% or more) and candidate to scheduled interview conversion rate (68%), similar to other tools on the market. Despite those results, AllyO’s ratings lag, with 4 out of 5 stars on Capterra and just 3.6 out of 5 on G2.
Brazen offers a full suite conversational recruiting platform and the recruiting chatbot is one of the most popular tools in the toolbag. Brazen’s chatbot includes simple website integration, so it’s easy to install on your career site or on job req landing pages. The recruiting chatbot, powered by Google’s DialogFlow, captures contact info, screens applicants, and connects job seekers with live recruiters. Brazen’s recruiting chatbot is focused on the pre-application part of the process, allowing human recruiters to manage conversations and relationships beyond that point. The chatbot has a clear role, which is to get humans involved as early in the process as possible, while saving time by automating some of the more tedious tasks.
Brazen offers strong customer support and continuous innovation. More than just a simple chatbot, Brazen also offers an FAQbot, perfect for answering basic questions when your human team isn’t available, and Videobot, which responds to job seekers with videos that address their questions right inside the chatbot conversation. Brazen’s Videobot is a unique offering, unmatched in the market. Brazen’s conversational recruiting platform also includes SMS/text recruiting, virtual career fairs, and live broadcasting.
Brazen customers are some of the happiest around, and the platform has 4.5 stars on G2 and 4.6 on Capterra. Brazen also has a reputation for being easy to use, boosting candidate engagement, and improving the quality of candidates coming through your pipeline. Brazen’s chatbot was built to automate conversations and gives recruiting teams the ability to control the conversation. There are still too many bots out there that attempt to have natural conversations, which is just not possible yet. If you are looking for a bot that learns over time then this is not the bot for you.
Mya’s recruiting chatbot offers end-to-end lifecycle support, which reengages candidates already in your database, screens new applicants, schedules interviews with live recruiters, and supports the onboarding process. For many talent acquisition teams, this might be more technology than you want in your recruiting relationships. Mya boasts some pretty impressive results, including 79% time-to-interview reduction, 2.5x increase in funnel conversion, and 144% gain in recruiter productivity. Mya has grown rapidly since its launch in June 2017 but it’s still a lesser known platform. For talent acquisition professionals in the market for a new chatbot vendor, there’s a lack of user-generated feedback to consider, as Mya has only 1 review on G2 and is not even listed on Capterra.
TextRecruit is one of the most recognizable brands in the conversational recruiting space and launched its chatbot, Ari, in September 2017. Ari is a web-based chatbot powered by IBM’s Watson AI, and the tool can also be used to hold text conversations with job seekers, schedule interviews with live recruiters, and integrate with an ATS. Ari has a simple UI that appeals to job seekers, but it’s difficult to learn more about how the chatbot works or the results it delivers. TextRecruit doesn’t share any metrics on their website and talent acquisition leaders need to schedule a demo in order to see more than a few basic screenshots. TextRecruit does host a number of customer case studies on its website but it’s impossible to filter by tool, so we weren’t able to easily locate any results of the recruiting chatbot. Similarly, there are no reviews or ratings on major software comparison sites about Ari specifically, only TextRecruit as a complete platform. With such limited user-generated information available, it’s difficult for talent acquisition professionals to weigh the pros and cons of making Ari part of their team.
Your recruiting chatbot partner
Selecting the right vendor to add a recruiting chatbot to your conversational recruiting strategy is a big decision. When considering your options, features and benefits are important, but we encourage you to move beyond the nuts and bolts, and look for added value. As you learn about each recruiting chatbot, ask yourself whether it delivers the candidate experience you aspire to. Does the vendor’s support team understand your goals and priorities? Will the solution grow with you as your talent acquisition strategies change over time? Is it easy to get the answers to all your questions before you sign on the dotted line?
